Merry Christmas

This will probably be my last post for the year.  So Merry Christmas

The kickstarter campaign was a failure but that doesn't mean 4ddice.com is completely dead.  Here is what I will be up to over the next little while:

1) Add links to shapeways for all dice so you can use the search engine and fairness analysis on 4ddice.com and buy the dice from the designers on shapeways.
2) Convert dice analysis software to java and make lots of improvements to its ability to automatically analyse dice.  I will then release a pc/mac/linux version of the software so the dice can be analysed on the designers computer instead of requiring lots of servers on my side.

Once this is all done I will try again at raising the capital to start printing dice myself but this time it will be by selling shares in the company.  So if you are interested in owning a part of the company and getting a portion of all future profits follow this blog or my twitter account @mctrivia so you know when this will be available.

new Template System coming soon

Well I have been very busy completely rewriting my web page to use my new template system.

https://github.com/OakbankTechnologyInc/Template

It is a very simple template system but in its simplicity it allows for a lot of flexibility.  I am updating to this system because it will allow for future updates to the look and feel of the site to be done much easier.

I am also excitedly awaiting my samples of minimal(Click here to see).  My $1 die.  The $4 pledge level gets you 4 of these cool dice.  Hopefully this or my offer to make 1 of a kind dice for only $50 will get this project funded.

Hello World

<?
 echo "Hello World!";
?>

Every programmer good or bad has had to write a hello world program.  I thought it fitting then that my first post on this blog would be entitled Hello World.  Like many people I am a man with many hats.  Electronics Engineering Technologist, Journeyman Electrician, Programmer, Designer, Husband and Father.  But none of my hats are linguist, or author so bare with me.

So what are my goals with 4ddice.com and why am I writing a blog?

Well simply put my goals for 4ddice.com are:
1) To make 3D printed dice affordable to the masses.
2) Help people learn about factors effecting fairness of a die
3) Help customers know what they are buying and what to expect.
4) Give designers the tools they need to manage and sell there inventory of designs.

This project has been and will still be a lot of work for me but it is work I enjoy and I hope you enjoy the results.

Please check back in soon as I will try to write at least weekly.
